Luna

Interactive Product Design & UX

Project Description:

Luna is a non-biased and non-judgmental, innovative voice guide that walks young girls through the beginning of the menstrual cycle. Through a paired system of a voice ai product and supportive digital app, Luna helps educate and reassure girls before they begin their first menstrual cycle, during their first period, and the cycles that follow. She focuses specifically on identifying and helping to aid with user symptoms, providing basic understanding of why the menstrual cycle occurs, guiding users through using feminine products, and normalizing the experiences users go through, ensuring they are not alone. With the personality of a cool, free-flowing and approachable big sister, Luna provides vital information by responding to questions and conducting engaging conversations with the user.

To ensure that all users, regardless of how much or how little they know about the menstrual cycle are provided with appropriate information, Luna categorizes each user in different “phases”. These five different phases, Wondering, Curiosity, Blooming, Embracing and Glowing, are visually displayed by the color changing light built into the product and the Luna app. Featuring a period tracker period irregularity friendly, and a product section displaying simple visuals and step by step tutorials on how to use period products such as tampons and pads, the Luna app syncs with and supports the vital information Luna offers verbally. The more engagement a user has with Luna, the further they progress in the phases. With both the Luna app and the Luna voice ai, users are able to feel more comfortable and gain important information in a safe manner regarding the menstrual cycle.
